I have completed a number of writing courses locally and in other areas of the country.  I've also had the pleasure of completing three of Paula's writing courses, which are wonderfully unique. 

Most writing instructors have a definite message that they deliver.  Paula has a definite message too, but in addition she listens to her students, reads their writing, and tailors her comments directly to the student.   Paula's critiques are not only insightful and educational, but they are delivered in a supportive and inspirational way.  

One of Paula's critiques alone is worth more than the cost of the entire course.

Paula's warm, intelligent nature made her workshop an inviting place for writers at any stage in their writing.  I was surprised how easily she was able to satisfy the seasoned writer and the novice.  I learned to look at my writing with a "writer's eye" and gained the confidence  to let all those deep dark secrets in my mind come to life on the page. The Creative writing workshop was a great way to motivate me to start writing. The different writing exercises that we practiced opened up my mind to better and different ideas. Sharing the exercises with one another was a great help. It was interesting to hear how one thought can produce  many different ways to be put on paper. It gave me a way to expand on my own writing.

I had the opportunity for my work to be critiqued by Paula and others in the class. That was of great help.  I was able to make a few changes to my stories, making them more meaningful for others to read.

I came away from the class with a new energy and excitement wanting to continue my writing.  I'm looking forward to attending more workshops in the future. Hoping to see you there, for you will come away refreshed and eager to continue your writing.
